Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28: 18-20

It is Harborside Christian Church’s goal to carry out the great commission that God commanded in Matthew 28 and in accordance with His good and perfect will for our church. We believe that all believers in Christ are called to spread the news of Jesus Christ both in areas of local influence and abroad. As a primary resource to accomplish the goal, Harborside has partnered with local ministries in our community, state and country to offer its members opportunities to carry out God’s command to us. Additionally, there are ministry opportunities abroad as we support missionaries and mission organizations in various countries.

A good place to start is with our mission team meetings on the third Sunday of each month after second service. Here you will be updated on events and stay informed on the ministries we support. Frequently, our missionaries from the field will address the successes of their ministries.

Before sending his disciples and initial missionaries abroad, they ministered in Jerusalem proper. Jesus knew we must show compassion at home before we can take it abroad. What better model is there to follow than that of our savior by serving the needs in your local community? Opportunities abound for serving in food pantry’s, to the homeless, to the sick and infirm, to our aged population and to God’s most precious, children. “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 23:14

As our commission extends beyond the borders of our country, Harborside serves His Kingdom throughout the world. Our international missions preach the word of God while team members construct or rebuild churches and schools, treat the infirm by participating on a medical team, train local spiritual leaders through pastor’s conferences, and providing compassion and comfort through disaster relief. Harborside’s mission is to lead people in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ therefore we encourage all our members grow through service. Your action through service will help others know the love our Heavenly Father has for us. If you feel called to missions, please contact a mission’s team member or Paul Melton, Harborside’s Mission Director, who will help you find a place to serve. Many don’t act for a variety of reasons. God has a plan for you, are you a part of it?
