What is Worship?

Worship at Harborside.

The creative arts ministry at Harborside seeks to communicate truth in a relevant way, through music, art, drama and technology.

Are you one of those creative people?

Teams include band members, vocalists, praise choir members, media and production volunteers as well as theatrical artists.

Music and Worship
Music is one tool he has given us to help us do that. Both through example and command, Scripture shows us the vital role music plays in the worship of God. Psalm 66:2 says, “Sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise!” Music is a gift from God, intended to assist us as we develop and deepen our relationship with Him.

The Music and Worship Ministry of Harborside Christian Church exists first to identify, train and deploy musicians who will humbly and skillfully serve God’s purposes for and through the church. Secondarily, we want to equip the church in general musical knowledge that will enhance the use of music in glorifying God.

Join our Choir

The choir is a group of worshippers that sings together once a month and joins in worship leadership both services on Sunday morning. As a worship choir member your goal is to lead worship with your voice by singing parts and to enjoy worshipping God by leading others.

We expect you to come prepared knowing your music, and we have fun singing together. You may learn by ear if you can't read music, or you may read the music prepared for you. All we ask is that you can sing in tune and your hearts desire is to join with other worshippers to honor and praise God.

The harmony range in our music is primarily soprano and alto plus the lead vocal melody. So we are looking for Soprano, Alto, and tenor (baritone) voices.

We have one rehearsal a month from 7pm - 8pm on the Thursday before the Sunday you sing. And the time commitment on Sunday morning is from 7am to 12pm. Choir is both exciting and fun, and we get a front row seat leading people in worship and seeing them respond to God in worship as His presence fills the place.

• Outreach

We seek to provide opportunities to use and develop each person’s individual strengths, whether they be classically trained or self taught, play by note or by ear, or whether they play other people’s songs or write their own.
